In a recent interview, the drama’s director, Khizer Idrees, shared insights about the romantic aspects of the show and revealed that Usman Mukhtar initially refused to perform some of the scenes.

According to Khizer Idrees, Mukhtar found certain romantic scenes difficult to enact. He reportedly told the production team, “I cannot do this. It is hard for me to perform such scenes. Please change them.” The actor admitted feeling discomfort while performing intimate sequences and expressed admiration for other actors who handle such roles with ease.

After discussions and persuasion, Usman Mukhtar agreed to perform the scenes, delivering them effectively on screen. However, he reportedly continued to feel a sense of hesitation whenever romantic scenes appeared in the script. Khizer Idrees said, “He often told me that he salutes actors who perform romantic scenes; it is a truly challenging task.”

The director explained that his approach was to film husband-wife interactions in a realistic manner, aiming to create an emotional connection between the characters and the audience. He also revealed that a particular hospital scene was created spontaneously to emphasize the emotions of the characters following a temporary separation and a conflict.Episode 12 of Pamaal featured several romantic sequences between Usman Mukhtar and Saba Qamar. These scenes drew strong reactions from viewers, sparking discussion on social media and among drama enthusiasts.

Khizer Idrees stressed that the intention behind including such scenes was to maintain authenticity in the storyline and to portray the depth of the characters’ relationship, rather than just for on-screen glamour.
