[Metaphor Refantazio Animatic] Carry You Home | More x Alice

Wow I haven't made a title card since... checks when I uploaded Neptune a year ago. Since then I've made a couple on the side but not good enough for me (in my opinion) to upload. Blame perfectionism as one of the reasons.

I never did stop making these though, through storyboards I made traditionally. I'd gotten to the point where I'd edit them into an animatic on my phone and this was one of them. I'd also picked this one app (Concepts) that I've been sketching on. Surprisingly that app really accomodates to how I make animatics, to the point that I thought: "yeah, why not?" So here it is! I will not be stopped REEEEEEEE

Who is Alice? (or rather, where did "Alice" come from?)

In game, the character this animatic references as Alice is more commonly referred to as the "Mysterious Voice" or the "Eldan Queen". However, I did some digging into the game files and saw that name being used as a place holder for her. The name itself checks out, though, considering Metaphor is based off of Utopia and More is a direct reference to the book's author (Thomas More) and the devs most likely meant to reference his second wife (Alice More).

While both of them have major roles as characters--acting as both narrators and supernatural guides--we don't really see much of their dynamic or character (ESPECIALLY ALICE) save for some offhand mentions some characters make. Sure, we see the small exchange between the two (like in 9/24 where Alice teases More for forgetting her voice--like leave the amnesiac alone man), but it was never fully fleshed out beyond their role as rulers. I wanna take the chance to explore that through this, because I am a big sucker for tragic parents. (or maybe just really into rarepairs... duanxun...)
