The Pasig River Esplanade project, officially called Pasig: Bigyang Buhay Muli (PBBM), which translates to "Pasig: Give Life Anew."
It is a massive urban renewal and rehabilitation initiative championed by the administration of President Bongbong Marcos and a pet project of First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.

The core goal is to rehabilitate and revitalize the Pasig River, aiming to restore it as a "living river of multiple benefits" and transform its surrounding area into a vibrant, sustainable, and people-centric urban space.
Length: The plan encompasses a 25-kilometer (16 mi) esplanade following the entire length of the Pasig River, traversing Manila, Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasig, and Taguig.
Key Features: It will establish an unimpeded pedestrian and cycling lane connecting multiple cities, create civic spaces, parks, and recreational facilities, and integrate commercial enterprises to be run by local communities.
Sustainability Focus: The design emphasizes sustainable practices like urban gardens, solar lighting, and rain harvesting facilities.
💰 Funding and Status
Cost: The project is estimated to cost between PHP 15 to 18 billion, funded by the Philippine government and leading private tycoons.
Phases: Construction and opening are happening in phases. The first 500-meter "Showcase Area" near the Manila Post Office Building has already been completed and opened, proving to be an instant hit due to its picturesque views.
