And now for something a tad bit more time consuming than the Distant Duet thing I just made.
Yep. Sprite editing. Recently been doing some of that, and I'm pretty happy with how this looks. Pixel animation isn't something I do much of (or animation in general really...) but I think this came out ok.
As for the "custom character" here. I basically had to recreate Samurai pixel by pixel. Samurai's rather light on animation though so luckily this wasn't too tough.
In retrospect, this level draws about as much from Super Samurai Slice as the Wii version.
Known Issues:
The sword cutting animation looks off in double speed (I presume in half speed as well but I didn't check)
I do plan on updating the samurai json to make the slice action separate from the ready up pose, so that can always be timed properly.
