Louvred design radiator grille with aerofoil section, aerodynamic front and rear black spoilers, black wheelarch extensions, twin body coloured doors mirrors, special XR2 bodyside decal treatments, extended black window surround paint, storage compartment under rear-floor, laminated windscreen, two speed plus intermittent wipe, tailgate wash/wipe, heated rear window, tachometer, trip recorder, driving lamps, soft feel special steering wheel, perforated 'Cool Black' headlining, digital header mounted clock, loadspace carpet, cigar lighter, illuminated interior controls. Factory fitted options include, tilting glass sunroof.

EXTERIOR
This stunning sporting Fiesta is finished in gleaming Sunburst Red (code P1) and boasts a uniform deep shine throughout. There is no rust or corrosion on the vehicle whatsoever, and the only imperfection to speak of is a small stone chip to the front leading edge of the bonnet. All panels are straight with linear gaps. The showroom standard finish certainly continues to the engine bay, which has received the same fastidious level of detailing as the rest of the car. The factory standard trim sections, bumpers and XR2 bodyside decals are perfect, as are the glass, lights and badges. The factory fitted sunroof, a £124.72 option from new is completely watertight and as new. A rare vehicle, unsurpassed in this condition.

INTERIOR
The interior in this remarkable example is factory fresh, remaining in beautiful original condition and exactly as Ford intended. The 'Storm' and Crushed Velour interior in Shark Grey environment colour is immaculate and free from tears, rips or discolouration, although the drivers seat base material is slightly loose. The Shark Grey loop pile carpet is spotless and retains its fullness, as does the Grey Mylar sidewall and rear quarter finishers. All switchgear is functional and intact, and the soft finish dashboard with red surround is perfect. The original trimmed parcel shelf is intact, straight and complete with the correct rubber hangers. A delightfully period 1980's sports hatch interior, reminiscent of Fords glory days.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The time proven transverse mounted 1600 OHV engine with Weber twin-venturi carburettor develops an ample 84BHP in such a lightweight and nimble car, achieving a top speed of 105mph and 0-60 in just 9.3 seconds. The standard specification automatic choke and electronic ignition are both present and correct, and operate perfectly. The four speed synchromesh gearbox with remote shift is light and exact, a joy to use.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES.
Special 'pepperpot' 13" X 6" alloys wheel with ultra low profile 185/60HR13 tyres still adorn the car and are in pristine condition. A matching spare alloy wheel sits in the spare wheel housing which incorporates the correct 'bulged' rear lower valance designed to accommodate the enlarged alloy wheel compared with lower Fiesta models. All tyres are original specification Pirelli P6 and retain excellent tread all round. The dual line servo assisted brakes with ventilated 9.4" front discs and 7.0" rear drums bring the car up to a steady, straight and assured halt.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 26th May 1983, Mr A Cooper the previous owner of this car purchased it from a Mr M Shearing who had enjoyed long term ownership since February 1999. Upon taking ownership in March 2012, Mr Cooper, a renowned professional classic vehicle restorer embarked upon his personal project to restore this XR2 to the highest standard. The finish achieved is second to none and certainly gives this special car the credit it truly deserves. The history file is present with previous MOT certificates and the V5 document.
