The Beatles In Hamburg live at the Bambi Kino, play at the Indra & Kaiserkeller

The Beatles left Liverpool for Hamburg in August 1960 to appear live on stage on the Grosse Freiheit. Follow David Bedford as he takes a walk down the Grosse Freiheit to see where the Beatles lived at the Bambi Kino, and where they performed live at the Indra Club and the Kaiserkeller.

John, Paul, George, Stuart and Pete took to the stage on 17th August 1960 at the Indra Club, before it was closed down. They then moved to the Kaiserkellerwhere they were joined by Rory Storm and the Hurricanes.

The Beatles definitely grew up in Hamburg, as John Lennon said.
