India and Pakistan share a historical dispute over Indus Water System which both countries tried to addressed through a treaty in 1960 i.e Indus Water Treaty of 1960 where India and Pakistan agreed to division of water in manner specified under Indus Water Treaty to reach most affective and efficient utilisation of waters of Indus Water System consisting of major rivers such as Jhelum, Chanab, Ravi, Beas, Sutlej and River Indus which also included their respective tributaries.
