देश में नए श्रम कानून (Labour laws) लागू हो गए. इसे लेबर सिस्टम में अब तक का सबसे बड़ा बदलाव बताया जा रहा है. प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की सरकार ने चार नई श्रम संहिताओं को आधिकारिक रूप से लागू कर दिया है. सरकार का दावा है कि ये सिर्फ कानूनी अपडेट नहीं, बल्कि भारत के 40 करोड़ से ज्यादा कामगारों के जीवन में एक ऐतिहासिक क्रांति है. नई श्रम संहिताएं सबसे पहले हर वर्कर को टाइम पर मिनिमम वेतन की गारंटी देती हैं. अब देरी, मनमानी और शोषण की गुंजाइश खत्म होगी. युवाओं के लिए जॉब में नियुक्ति पत्र अनिवार्य कर दिया गया है ताकि नौकरी शुरू होते ही उनका अधिकार पक्का हो. महिलाओं के लिए Equal Pay का साफ नियम लागू होगा, जिससे कार्यस्थलों पर जेंडर बेस्ड भेदभाव पर लगाम लगेगी.
सोशल सिक्योरिटी के दायरे में 40 करोड़ वर्कर्स आने से देश की कार्यशक्ति पहली बार इस पैमाने पर सुरक्षित होगी. फिक्स टर्म एम्प्लॉईस को सिर्फ एक साल की नौकरी के बाद ग्रेच्युटी का हक दिया गया है. यह बदलाव उन लाखों वर्कर्स के लिए राहत है जो कॉन्ट्रैक्ट पर काम करते हैं और स्थायी कर्मचारियों जैसी सुरक्षा नहीं पाते. 40 साल से ऊपर के हर वर्कर का सालाना फ्री हेल्थ चेक-अप अनिवार्य किया गया है. इसे सरकार वर्कफोर्स की दीर्घकालिक सेहत में निवेश मान रही है. ओवरटाइम करने वालों के लिए अब डबल वेतन का प्रावधान है, जिससे शोषण की आशंका खत्म होगी और अतिरिक्त मेहनत का सही मूल्य मिलेगा.

The new labor codes first of all guarantee timely minimum wage to every worker. Now the scope for delay, arbitrariness and exploitation will end. Job appointment letter has been made mandatory for the youth so that their rights are confirmed as soon as they start the job. Clear rules of equal pay will be implemented for women, which will curb gender-based discrimination at workplaces.
