Today 5/6% of the population is Muslim, and by 2050 10% to 15% of the population will be Muslim, with a great part composed of local reverts (2/5).

(Some calculations estimate that 30% of the population will be Muslim by 2100)

The peak of Islam on the Island was reached in 1095 with 55/60% of the population being Muslim, the rest was Orthodox, Catholic, and Jewish.
