Cisco CFO: $28 billion acquisition of Splunk will be a 'gamechanger'

Cisco (CSCO) has officially sealed its $28 billion acquisition of Splunk (SPLK) after securing regulatory approval from the European Union. To shed light on the strategic significance of this deal, Cisco's Chief Financial Officer, Scott Herren, joins Yahoo Finance Live, calling the Splunk acquisition "a game-changer."
Herren emphasizes that the transaction "will build alot of value" for both customers and shareholders. He highlights that the acquisition will be "cash-flow accretive," driving growth in margins and profitability, characterizing it as "a very attractive deal."
Underscoring the rapidly evolving landscape of "AI and digital transformation," Herren stresses the importance for companies to stay ahead of the curve in critical areas such as security, networking, and data management. He believes that Cisco "is pretty uniquely positioned" to address these areas, and with the addition of Splunk, he believes that "no one's gonna be able to actually pull that accomadation of resources together in the way Cisco can".
"Obviously there's no... there's no AI without data, there's no data without a network, and there's no network without security. So I think it really positions us quite well to power both the rest of the digital transformation but also this revolution in AI." Herren tells Yahoo Finance Live.
