(26 Jul 2017) ANISTON, ARNETT JOIN AS JASON BATEMAN GETS A HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME STAR
Jennifer Aniston did her best to embarass Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree Jason Bateman on Wednesday (26 July) -- showing off photos from his child actor days including the cover of Muppet Magazine.
"This little Muppet. I mean who doesn't love – honestly – I mean, once you've made it on the cover of Muppet Magazine, I mean haven't you done it all? Who needs a star?!" she told a crowd at the ceremony along Hollywood Boulevard.
Aniston said she calls Bateman "grandpa" -- he often visits her home and sits down immediately on the couch to watch a baseball game.
"I mean, it's like is he young, is he old? He looks 12, he acts 100. A head of hair that even women envy," she said.
Aniston and Bateman have starred together in "Office Christmas Party," "Horrible Bosses" and "The Switch."
Bateman's "Arrested Development" co-star Will Arnett also showed up to support the 48-year-old actor, director and producer.
Bateman began his career in the early 1980s as a child actor.
"The first time that I ever walked on any of these stars was as a little kid. I was skateboarding to an audition. I was about 10 or 11," he said. "I mean, there was a permanence to it. An indicator of having spent so much time on something that was just too far out there in the ether for me. And of course 38 years went by like that, and I'm still the anxious little kid with a headshot and a skateboard. But now I am the father of a 10-year-old and a five-year-old. And I have a wife that I love with everything that I've got."
Bateman stars in the new Netflix series "Ozark" and begins shooting another season of "Arrested Development" for the streaming giant in a few weeks.
He posed with his wife Amanda Anka and daughters Francesca and Maple after the ceremony, and said he doesn't care how his fans treat his star – the 2,616th on the Walk of Fame.
"Bang it up. It's a piece of sidewalk. Treat it as such, I suppose," he said.
