How do you know your practice or training session was good?
For me, the answer's pretty straightforward. I take out that "Ahh, it FELT good..." or "Uhh, it FELT wack..." - I take out the "feeling" from the equation.
Instead, I prefer to quantify my definition of a good practice by setting a specific set of goals.
For example, one such goal: I must be able to do 10x windmill-to-airflare within 1 practice session.
If I can do it 10x within the practice (or even by the hour), I know it's been a good productive session for me.
If I didn't, I'd ask myself, why didn't I do it? Was my technique wrong? Was it a bad form issue? Or did I simply get injured or wasn't rested the day before?
And even so, a "bad session" is still good because I learn from my mistakes.
Hope this guides your thinking of how you can judge what a good practice is to you.
