Here is a design for a UPS style power supply. It uses 6 x 18650, 3000 mAH Li-ion cells to provide 12V back-up power for a Router.
The design uses a 24V 4 A power supply, a Buck convertor to step it down to 12.6V and a Li-ion 3S battery charging circuit.
When the power drops the Li-ion cells take over supply and should provide several hrs running the Router. Thus giving the household time to back-up in the cloud and keep running.
