This has always been one of my most favorite Kundimans. I thought I'd upload a version of it since none can be found online.
Santiago Suarez (1901-1964) composer, enriched the repertoire of Philippine music by more than 400 compositions of haranas, balitaws, danzas and ballads. In the late 1930s, his energies were channeled into musical scoring of movies. "Sakay" (1939), featured the soulful danza Hirap ng Umibig. He is also known for introducing the "harana" in the films that he scored.
Sylvia La Torre (born June 4, 1933), known as "The Queen of Kundiman", is a Filipina singer, actress, and radio star. She is the first soprano who broke through the pop culture successfully in the Philippines. She studied music at the University of Sto. Tomas after World War II.
