In this video, we determine the differential equation governing the variation of the voltage across a capacitor fed by a constant voltage, determine the constants A, B, and τ in the solution of the differential equation, calculate the values of τ, E, and R, determine the differential equation governing the variation of the discharge current, and verify the solution of this differential equation. Furthermore, we calculate the electric energy lost by the capacitor during [0 , 2.5τ], and the thermal energy dissipated by the resistor during [0 , 2.5τ].
