SOLO GIRL exploring ABBOTTABAD | Best places in Abbottabad | Ilyasi Masjid, Harnoi & Shimla

This Abbottabad trip was one of my most challenging adventures. I was travelling solo from Islamabad, and planned the best places to visit in Abbottabad on my own. I couldn’t find much info online, but once I reached, I realized how underrated the city is, with plenty of things to do in Abbottabad.


History:
The city was founded in January 1853 by Sir James Abbott during British colonial rule. Sadly, many buildings from that era, like Rudyard Kipling's father’s house and Sir Abbott’s residence, are being dismantled. If preserved, these could have become the top places to see in Abbottabad. Many also require permits to enter.

Friends Pakora (outside Ilyasi masjid)

Best Time to Visit: Spring, Summer & Autumn. Not Winter.
