Let's GOOO Mo Fishies!!!
This definitely wasn’t lights-out fishing by any means — but for me, this was my best day ice fishing yet on Burt Lake, Michigan, and I’ll take that win all day!
Matt and I managed to grind out a handful of perch, and Matt slipped in a dirty pike kicker to beat me in total numbers (of course). Even though the bite was slow at times, I learned a ton, gained some confidence, and walked away calling this trip a success.
Every time I get out on the ice I improve a little, and days like this remind me that progress doesn’t always mean limits — sometimes it just means doing better than last time.
I’m incredibly blessed to live and fish in beautiful Northern Michigan, and days like this are exactly why I love being out on the ice.
