We take a POV ride on 5x brilliant KONE escalators at Millennium Point in Birmimgham and ride one of the generic but nice glass lifts in the middle. The escalators were installed in 2000 and 4 of them are the type RTV-GL/G and the longest one is a RTV-99-G. They are really nice complete with beautiful blue lights under the handrails and stainless steel trusses. Built in the Keighley, England 🏴 factory.

Comment any useful info or possible suggestions for future videos. Thanks! 😎
** These are original except for 2 things. The LCD displays have been changed to say ‘Millennium Point’ rather than the original ‘O&K VarioTronic401 Kone’ and, the slightly disappointing change is that when they were original, the set of 4 used to actually be reversible (2 way) so they would go up or down automatically. This functionality has now been switched off so they only run upwards and I believe the speed has been decreased to 0.4m/s except for the tall one which still runs at 0.5m/s. The landing plates while unusual are original, they always had these and no logos.
*If anyone watched the police drama ‘Line of Duty’, this is the location where they filmed some of series 1 - their office was meant to be in here and these are the escalators you’d see in the show. 🙂
