Have you travelled to Yorktown, Virginia and now you're thinking you'd like to live there? Well I can't blame you. I think it's one of the most special places in the entire U.S. If you love history, and want to live an active lifestyle, the historic triangle is for you! Located along the York River, Yorktown is most famous as the location where, in 1781, The Battle of Yorktown, also called The Siege at Yorktown, and The Surrender at Yorktown took place. They gave battles lots of names back then! Here, General George Washington, along with the Comte de Rochambeau, and the Marquis de Lafayette pinned Cornwallis and the British army on the Virginia Peninsula and forced his surrender, bringing an end to the American Revolution. You can walk the famous battlefields where Alexander Hamilton helped lead the attack against the British, enjoy guided tours of this historic area, and then head over to the 27,500 square foot American Revolution Museum.

In addition to the history, you can also enjoy a large park space, beautiful riverfront beaches, and great restaurants like Yorktown Pub, Carrot Tree Kitchens, and Water Street Grille. Small shops and a 1.5 mile waterfront walking path make this one of the top destinations in all of Hampton Roads. Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown Settlement are easily accessible via the scenic Colonial Parkway.
