The second of the 2012 Semi-Final's for the Big League from Birmingham Wheels Raceway. Pole-Sitter 84 Tom Harris quickly slips down the field as he takes wide lines, smoothing out the hits from the opposition, and avoids collecting any damage. It was to be 217 Lee Fairhurst that took up the running, with 150 Mick Sworder in pursuit.. However, the unfortunate pair of 16 Matt Newson and 212 Danny Wainman were to spin and slide entering turn3, Newson's spin ends his hopes of finishing the race, while the more fortunate Wainman, collects his car and continues. Soon after the caution, early race leader Fairhurst was to retire, after his fuel tap turned off following a hit from Wainman in his attempt to gain the place from Fairhurst. Former F2 racer Rob Speak moved through the field and secured his place on the F1 World Final grid. However, this race belonged to Sworder, after Harris seemingly appeared to settle for second, as the lead pair pulled clear of third placed Wainman. Sworder ecstatic at his Semi win then does a little bit show-boating for the crowd.
