After a smooth day with new patterns and some driving practice, it was the perfect way to wrap up a fun and exciting day with the peak direction leg to Middle Village with the new patterns in place. As mentioned in the announcements when the swap was revealed at the end of September, the MTA revealed that the (M) Train would get an increased in service during rush hour to compensate moving the (F) back to 53 St. And I’m glad that we were able to increase capacity because not only did it help with QBL, but it also helped with the Jamaica Line between Delancey and Myrtle Av-Broadway. For my first impression of the new change, I am satisfied and I wish this was the case 15 years ago. The start of the swap wasn’t the best though due to switch problems at 5 Av-53 St on the first day of the change, but it’ll fizzle out overtime. The only thing I would improve would be the signage at some of the stations. On the 63 St Line 🟠🟡, it lists Queens on both sides. It would be easier if it listed Downtown and Brooklyn since it would cause less confusion, but it is what it is.
