This week Schony747 is at The Ballarat Tramway Museum which recently held an event to mark the 50th anniversary of the tram museum. The State Electricity Commission (SEC) Ballarat tramway system closed in 1971 and the museum was also set up the same year with a view to preserving a part of Ballarat's tramway history. The museum has been around for 50 years and as a part of the special day long event, an 8 tram cavalcade ran along the museum's tracks which is located at Lake Wendouree. All trams seen in the parade currently form a part of the operational fleet with most running on the Ballarat system before the 1971 closure. Two trams, the W2 and W4 ran in Melbourne and now form a part of the museum's running fleet. The tram parade was a part of a great day of community festivities and the other video featuring more from the event will be available in a few weeks.
