An elderly lollipop man was hit by a car that didn't even stop - but it hasn’t put him off from the job he loves. Richard Northey has spoken after he was hit by a car in Chacewater near Truro on Thursday (May 2), while he was guiding school children across the road.
The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene and reportedly drove off west towards Scorrier. CCTV from the time of the incident has been handed to police and witnesses have come forward.
According to Richard - known as Richie - a woman with a pram was waiting to cross the road when he put his hand out to allow them to cross. A car then failed to stop, crashing into him before leaving the scene and driving off in Fore Street.
