"What does it mean to be green?" is the big question sparking this cross-faculty PBL unit of work including science, art and music. In formulating their answer and delivering it as a documentary, students consider the approach taken by composers Colin Bright and Amanda Stewart in the mixed-media, radiophonic opera "The Sinking of the Rainbow Warrior". Drawing on techniques used, four tutorials show how to compose in this genre using GarageBand. This first tutorial shows how to create a drone with a synthesised sound.
