Residence Inn by Marriott Cape Canaveral Cocoa Beach. Join us for a stay at Residence Inn, a hotel located near Port Canaveral, and Kennedy Space Center at Merritt Island.

One of our family's favorite ways to vacation is to leave the world behind and set sail on a Disney cruise out of Port Canaveral. Residence Inn has been our go-to pre-cruise stay for many years. The hotel offers spacious guest rooms, park and cruise packages, port transportation, and a hot breakfast is included with the stay.

Upon entering the lobby, the signs of the Space Coast can be seen in the artwork and the life-sized astronaut statue greeting guests at check-in. This is a great photo op spot! Breakfast is served in the dining area just off to the right of the lobby. Prior to COVID, this was a buffet-style meal but at the time of our visit staff was on hand to serve guests. During our stay we had scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, biscuits, and gravy, and cinnamon rolls. Other options included bananas, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, milk, and orange juice as well as coffee and hot chocolate. We loved the convenience of the meal and a hot breakfast is always a good way to start the day!

We share a tour of our room. For this stay, we booked a studio with a King bed and sofa bed for our family of four. We found the layout odd and watching TV was a bit of a challenge but the room was spacious. There is a kitchen with a microwave and electric stovetop, a full-sized refrigerator, and a dishwasher. Kitchenware, a toaster, and a coffee pot are also included. Although we generally visit for only a night or two we could enjoy a much longer stay with these offerings. The sofa converts into a queen-sized sleeper. There is a sizeable desk with outlets and the room has a table with 2 chairs for mealtime. The bathroom area is very basic with vanity and drawers for storage and the bathroom has a tub/shower combo with a commode. The hotel was quiet and we were comfortable during our stay.

We explore the outdoor area with a pool and hot tub. There are a number of loungers and chairs along the pool deck. Also outdoors is a grill available for guest use and there is a nearby seating area. The hotel has a workout room with treadmills and free weights and is accessible 24 hours a day.

There are several fast food locations nearby. Burger King is across the parking lot and Wendy's and McDonald's are down the road. Walmart is within a 15-minute drive and there is an Outback Steakhouse and Steak and Shake along the same stretch. Multiple local eateries are near Residence Inn as well but most will require a car for access. We recommend considering Residence Inn for your next cruise vacation, visit to Kennedy Space Center, or Cocoa Beach trip.
