Wendi Richter finally comes clean about the WWE Original Screw job
The “Original Screwjob” involving Wendi Richter took place on November 25, 1985, at Madison Square Garden. This event is often overshadowed by the more famous Montreal Screwjob, but it was equally controversial.

Wendi Richter was the WWF Women’s Champion at the time and was set to defend her title against a masked opponent known as The Spider Lady. Unbeknownst to Richter, The Spider Lady was actually The Fabulous Moolah in disguise. During the match, Moolah pinned Richter in a controversial manner, and the referee counted to three despite Richter clearly kicking out. This was orchestrated by Vince McMahon as a way to strip Richter of the title due to contract disputes123.

Richter was furious and left the WWF shortly after the incident. This event highlighted the often tumultuous and behind-the-scenes politics of professional wrestling.
