New Plymouth Festival of Lights + The Three Sisters Rock Formations TARANAKI | NZ Road Trip Vlog 1/3

When we visited New Plymouth a few months back, there were a lot of people who commented that we should return in summer to enjoy the annual Festival of Lights so that's exactly what we decided to do! :)

On our way to New Plymouth we stopped off to visit an attraction called The Three Sisters and Elephant Rock. We went to a lookout at Pilot Road first before making our way down to Clifton Road to walk up to the towering natural rock formations.

Conveniently at the carpark of The Three Sisters, there was a burger bar so we stopped to get ourselves some food first.

The Airbnb we stayed at was a spacious, comfy farm stay in Omata, close to town and a short drive away from Pukekura Park where the Festival of Lights was held.

The Festival of Lights is a free annual event held in Pukekura Park, New Plymouth every summer. There are light installations to enjoy at the park and depending on the night you go, food and other entertainment too.
