At Cincinnati Children’s, we know that getting better is about more than just medicine.

Here, we are all caregivers, and making children well is everyone’s business.

Our Child Life staff helps to ease the stress of being in the hospital and make your experience a more positive one. Our team includes dozens of specialists and even two working dogs. Because when we’re around, play makes even the worst days better.

Therapeutic play through pets, games, art, music and education are all small ways our team can help make a tremendous impact.

Cincinnati Children’s has the largest Child Life program in the country. You’ll see our staff all over the medical center – from patient rooms and playrooms to our Seacrest Studios and our outdoor pet visiting center. We support each family’s experience by explaining the care process, providing emotional support and helping you feel more in control of your hospital experience.

Small acts by Child Life specialists can be as simple as blowing bubbles, finding out a child’s favorite cartoon character, or making sure there’s glitter on a new cast.
