The musical evolution of Les Paul was influenced by the many different artists he admired. They covered a wide array of genres and styles, starting with Sunny Joe Wolverton, who expanded on Les's guitar technique and Django Reinhardt, who served as Les's north star and ultimately led to his unique style of playing. With his desire to play with the best musicians of the time, he ended up in what he liked to call his "college," Harlem, NY. There he included in his circle of compadres Art Tatum, Lester Young, Nat King Cole, and, of course, Bing Crosby. Along with his partner, Mary Ford, Les learned the art of performing and pleasing his audience and pioneered the future of modern music for decades to come. In this video, I talk about some of my adventures with Dad, and then Dad takes over with his unique thoughts. Enjoy and for all things, Les Paul go to LesPaulRemembered.com.
