About 70 km southwest of Da Nang lies the last major temple complex of Cham culture called My Son.
Of the once over 70 temples only about 20 are preserved today.
More than 70 percent of the plant were destroyed during the Vietnam War by the United States of Amerika.
My Son is one of the most important Hindu temple complexes in Southeast Asia and is considered the most important testimony of Cham culture in Vietnam.
Based on inscriptions the history of the place can be traced back to the 4th century.
