book off ranking justifications:
1.costa mesa: largest selection, bought the most here, well-stocked and the store itself was one of the better ones
2.torrance: this store is in a mall but also has a nice selection, i would say this was the most crowded of all of them though
3.gardena: MOST JAPANESE MANGA, if you want japanese manga this is the one, they have cheap sets of full series and aisles of single volumes, the english selection is good too, the vibe of this store was also good
4.lakewood: cute, decent selection, next to a costco so you can hit multiple errands at once
5.westminster: smallest and weakest selection of all the main book offs, also in a mall
6.torrance outlet: literally the $1 store, they only had one aisle of japanese manga but they did have a large selection of merch, i got a bunch of yowapeda standees
so ya overall this was a un experience, i love book off, it's kinda overpriced but the variety of stuff you can find is amazing and worth it imo, maybe i'l treck to the one in san diego one day
