Mourne Mountains sunset hike on Tornamrock in the Western Mournes — sweeping views of Hen, Cock, Pigeon and Eagle Mountain, golden hour light, and a minor mountain mishap along the way.
This sunset hike takes me high onto Tornamrock in the Western Mournes, with sweeping views across Hen, Cock, Pigeon, Wee Slievemoughan, Slievemoughanmore and Eagle Mountain. The ridge is the perfect place to watch the Mournes turn gold at the end of the day.
But as the light faded, things didn’t quite go to plan… dinner was cooked, the mountains staged their performance, and dusk brought an ending I hadn’t expected.
Join me in the natural amphitheatre of the Western Mournes — Rock, Sky, and a little mountain mischief along the way.
