Basically, there are two types of opacities in lungs, which are interstitial opacities and alveolar opacities. Identification of Interstitial opacities from a chest Xray is a challenge for medical students. Moreover, differentiation of alveolar opacities from interstitial opacities is also quite challenging. In fact, interstitial opacities are discrete opacities which don’t tend to coalesce, while alveolar opacities are ill defined opacities that form inside the alveoli and have tendency to coalesce. Easy and sticky method to differentiate the two opacities are given in the video. This video is made for medical students, residents and junior clinicians.
