I visited a indegenous tribe on the outskirts of Tayrona national park in Colombia, they showed me a cleansing ritual and then gave me fresh coca leaves to try, it was an eye opening experience as I got to see how modest their lives are. Indigenous peoples of Colombia, are the ethnic groups who have been in Colombia prior to the Europeans in the early 16th century. Known as pueblos indígenas in Spanish, they comprise 4.4% of the country's population and belong to 87 different tribes.
