Rest In Peace, Boba. *TW: Virtual Pet Loss* With Kudamas and Sam -Part 18- Vintage Story 1.21 Modded

Trigger warning: virtual pet loss and real pet loss explained below.

This was a tough one. Really tough. Despite Boba not being a real dog, Sam was fond of her virtual pet. Boba held a lot of in-game memories, and to find the bones of her beloved pet on the ground, brought up some tough feelings for Sam. This was filmed a few weeks ago. I debated posting this, and I did have Sam watch it and give her approval before releasing.

I feel obligated to spoil things further by saying the video does have a happy high-flying ending.

And then there's more sad news. As if losing a virtual pet isn't bad enough, our real life dog, Mitch, passed away this week. He was an old pup - a beautiful treeing walker coonhound whom we rescued a little over 10 years ago. He had been found wandering around in the southern most part of our state with a mangled eye. Someone had shot him, damaging his eye to the point that it had to be removed. The rescue helped him, and despite his gruesome injury he was a healthy dog. I'll never forget seeing his picture online and how I knew instantly that he was meant for our family.

We were told that he had been passed over by many people not only because he was lacking an eye, but because he was an older dog. I saw him sitting in that crate, all alone, not a single sound, head and ears hanging low. We brought him home that night. He puked in the back of my jeep, and that's how we found out he had a problem with car sickness, lol!

10 years was not enough time with him. He was my gentle, silly shadow. My gaming buddy. He was always beside me while I was on my computer. I'd reach down and scratch his butt or head, whatever was closer, and tell him what a good boy he was. Now his bed is empty and I can't bring myself to move it. I miss you, Mitch!
