When we think of hospital security, we may think of the guy in the uniform sitting behind the desk handing out visitors passes. However, hospital security is one of the most complexed and hands on types of security out there.
From handling patient concerns to restraining combative patients, hospital security staff help maintain the steady flow of patient care by allowing staff to focus on patient care and not on safety or security.
From contract guard companies to fully-sworn police divisions, hospital security can be as diverse as the hospital units themselves. While it may be hands on, down and dirty security, it can take a large amount of empathy. Helping patients or visitors by understanding that they arent in the best place when they come here and that they may act outside their normal behavior.
Hats off to all those who have worked I hospital security. Your good work hasn't gone unnoticed.
