Zuo Zhuan (Tso Chuan) is a classical Chinese historical work that records events in the feudal states of China from 722 to 468 BCE. Through vivid narratives of rulers, wars, alliances, and moral dilemmas, it shows how politics, ritual, and human character shaped an age of constant conflict and gradual unification. Ending shortly after the death of Confucius, it offers an essential background to early Confucian thought and the world in which it emerged.
