Super Mario Bros. Konamized - Alternative Gameplay (Demo) | Nimaginendo Games 2025

Unreleased version of the "Super Mario Bros. Konamized" demo. It already has some differences from the public version. Only the levels are available for the Super Mario Bros. 40th Anniversary Pack.

I was going to record gameplay of "Super Mario Bros. 3 Legacy" yesterday, the 6th, but I didn't have time. I was tired, and because of that the gameplay wasn't one of the best. So this morning I recorded this alternative gameplay of Super Mario Bros. Konamized, showing more of what's to come. The editing was done in the early evening and I'm finally posting it. I've had my days of rest and from today I'm back. The videos should gradually improve.

The idea behind the game is to create a "Super Mario Bros." in the style of Konami from the late 80s and early 90s. Konami used to develop games by thoroughly studying the console, knowing how to take advantage of its limitations and develop something more detailed or interactive, differentiating itself from other companies. In addition, Konami also likes to include references or easter eggs in its titles, such as the famous "Moai" statues.
It's also the company known for having a chip called VRC6, capable of adding new audio channels to the Famicom (Japanese NES), which some of the fan game's music also utilizes at times. Some sounds from Konami games are recycled, so that's also present in the fan game. I will try my best to emulate this in this new project, with a planned release only in early 2026, due to lack of time.

New comes!
There's a new source engine in production (it was on pause during this rest period) for something different, which I might show a snapshot of it in one of my videos. Perhaps I'll make an animation using this new source engine... for those who don't know, animations were the origin of this channel before it switched to creating fan games, so it's only fair to keep the essence of the channel's origins alive, don't you think?

It's already possible to create a really cool animation using the new source engine, and the idea (concept) has been ready since last year, but only now can I put it into practice. If you like it, the animation could be reworked into a playable fan game, since the concept is a very short and simpler game compared to the other games and animations that have become games, which I am developing or have already developed.
