Sorting out the problems and final result. Includes body removal instructions
I hope in this video to summaries the things I did to sort out this otherwise lovely model.
The problems initially were:
1) Lots of gear noise and high current drawn by the motor.
2) Lumpy running at lower speeds.
3) Middle driving wheels pumping back and forth
I did alert Hornby to the problems and after quite a long delay they did reply in a helpful manner asking if I would consider sending the loco to them for testing and resolution. However as I had made progress and have already fitted extra details I decided to press on and try and fix her myself.
