I will be striking this GORGEOUS milky~White and almost pearl-like Opalescent from @BullseyeGlass called Opaline 0403 . It is also a striker! However, it does not fire at the same temperature as gold bearing pinks and violets strike at. It strikes at a MUCH higher temp and starts to develop at around 1400 °F (760 °C) compared to the 1250F in gold bearing Pinks & Violets. So keeping this in a flat sheet on its own is somewhat of a obstacle.
Besides making beautiful glass nuggets and drops, I really want to find a way to make this into a glass sheet that can be struck and still keep that polished shine and under 4mm for the #stainedglass & #mosaic art community. How cool would that be?!
This fiery white-ish cloudy brilliance would be fun in MANY projects. It has been used for many years especially in a creamy somewhat translucent vintage milk glass and just brings a bit of softness to every color it touches.
Have you worked with this glass before? Could you see using this in your next project? I really hope I can find a way to keep this polished looking while providing a flat and fun glass to use in many projects! Wish me luck!🤞🌱🥰💚
