Thomas Models at Drayton Manor - July 2009 Update

A video documenting how the Discover Thomas layout has progressed. This was taken during a visit to Drayton Manor (located near Tamworth in England, UK) on July 22nd. Despite the fact it was meant to be ready for Easter, a recent press article suggests this was actually the exhibition's first official day being open:

First day or not, things weren't exactly busy, so I was able to get a decent look round. The layout is very much complete, as far as I can see. Not accurate to any particular set, and is real mixture of props used in the series. There's bits of Dryaw, Great Waterton, Bluff's Cove, the Fishing villlage and more besides.

Characters spotted were Thomas, Edward, Toby, Stepney, Bulgy, Harvey, Rosie, Terence, Trevor, Elizabeth, Butch and Bulstrode. Thomas and Rosie were running around the circuit of track at intervals. Seemed to be automated, could see no one controlling them. The eyes were not moving and neither model was puffing out smoke. I remember reading somewhere that the chemical used to produce it was found dangerous, so that's understandable.
