Bert Heinrichs heads the neuroethics section at IWE. Neuroethics is an interdisciplinary field, which sometimes leads to confusion because concepts are not always used synonymously. One of the key concepts in philosophy is autonomy. In this video, we present a recent paper in which we introduce different approaches to autonomy to improve interdisciplinary understanding.
The details of the paper are: Wagner, R., & Heinrichs, B. (2024). Four notions of autonomy. Pitfalls of conceptual pluralism in contemporary debates. Human-Machine Communication, 9, 37–50.
