Coimbatore ENT Hospital operating in violation of regulations

Sensational complaint filed with the District Collector!

In a petition submitted to the Coimbatore District Collector by functionaries led by Lok Janshakti Party National Secretary Balaji, it is stated:
A hospital and research center named "Coimbatore ENT," specializing in ear, nose, and throat treatment and surgery, is operating on the Ganapathy - Saravanampatti main road within the Coimbatore Corporation limits. This hospital is run by Dr. Sajeev Rangasamy of Saravanampatti, Coimbatore.
It is alleged that no proper permission was obtained from the Coimbatore Corporation or the Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) for the construction of this hospital building. Furthermore, it is shocking that the hospital has been operating for the past 13 years without renewing its permission from the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, which expired in 2011.

The parking area allocated for the hospital has been illegally rented out for other commercial purposes. As a result, those coming for treatment park their vehicles on the main road. The complaint states that this causes severe traffic congestion in the area, leading to frequent accidents and fatalities.

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court recently ordered (W.P.No.12175 of 2018) that strict action should be taken against unauthorized and non-compliant buildings in Tamil Nadu, and that a high-level monitoring committee should be formed for this purpose. Based on this order, the Tamil Nadu government also issued a Government Order (G.O. 15). However, this hospital is operating without following any of these rules and in violation of the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Clinical Establishments Act. Furthermore, there are already pending cases against Dr. Sajeev Rangasamy, who runs the hospital, at the Thondamuthur police station under the Women's Harassment Prevention Act, and two cases at the Saravanampatti police station.
Therefore, the petitioner has requested in the petition that the district administration immediately conduct an inspection of this hospital, which poses a threat to the lives of the public and operates without respecting legal regulations, and take appropriate action.
