Played for 40 minutes till I got to a side dungeon. I would of liked of gotten to the subway though...

Thoughts:
I actually have known about this game for quite awhile and have been disappointed it hasn't been translated into English yet as it is a pretty interesting game. It's developed by Takara of all companies and if you don't know who they are I don't blame you. They are really only really known for Battle Arena Toshinden in the west and that's it although they have made other games. They were a Japanese toy company as well. This game has some parallels to the mainline Shin Megami Tensei Series. The setting, enemies, maps, dungeon type layouts, and battle system are extremely similar. The only things that Maten Denetsu does differently is the levels and equipment system. After battle you get ENG which can be exchanged to power up attack, mind, and defense. You can also change your weapon though I never quite figured out how it worked as It wouldn't let me confirm what I changed even though I hand enough ENG. Anyways you can change weapon type to a knife, sword, and sickle as a melee. You can also change to a gun and also change the weapon property to either physical or psychic.

When the game starts you can select from multiple starting characters. I think they have different strength and weaknesses, but I'm not sure. After you name your character story starts. You wake up in the ruins of Akihabara with no idea of how you got there soon find yourself warped to the Nazca Lines. You soon encounter a giant face who attacks you and he wipes the floor with you. You hear a woman's voice and you wake up in a lab. The man there talks about OOPARTS (Out Of Place Artifacts). Google them if you don't know what they are. They are popular with all the cool kids these days! You have one OOPARTS with you when you leave the lab. The man also gives you a gadget that doesn't have a mapping function, but has thermal sights sigh... After that you wander the ruins of Japan.

Would I recommend this game. I'm not too sure. Since I've barely played it I'd have to play more of it myself, but I'd say I'd definitely would like to play it, but not knowing Japanese makes that hard. The only stuff I was able to piece out was through Google Translate. I also find some of the music kind of catchy to though not all of of it is memorable. I also like the art to. Definitely check it out if you can read Japanese or look into it if your a fan of Shin Megami Tensei.
