Rhode Island’s reggae community has been strong for decades, and it’s become a staple of The Ocean State’s music scene. Under the name Clatta Bumboo, Providence artist and Moreland Hill, Jamaica native Sheldon Townsend has been one of the many shining lights in this community with his emotional, evocative and reflective music. His latest EP, released on March 19 (2021), conveys messages that range from personal to universal. It has an engaging vibe, with steady rhythms moving through complex structures.
