After being on my to do list for years, it’s finally time for me to get to work building rock sliders for the Powerstroke Bronco. The rig used to be lifted so high that I rarely had to worry about the rocker coming in contact with anything, but as I slowly lower the center of gravity of the rig and continuously push the capabilities of the truck on tougher trails, the need for rock sliders has gradually increased. That being said, the East Coast Bronco Roundup is around the corner, and this is the perfect opportunity to knock out a set.
For these sliders, Ben hit the steel yard for me and picked up some drops that I could use to craft them. They were charging $1 per pound, so I’ve got under $150 into the steel. Even once you include the consumables, these end up being a super budget friendly project that should offer a ton of protection out on the trails once they’re done!
