A mother has heaped praise on a Glasgow cancer nurse who treated both her and her son for children’s cancer, more than three decades apart.
Stephanie Muirhead, 46, and her son Andrew, 14, both received life-saving cancer care at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHS GGC) hospitals, where they were both cared for by nurse Angela Howat.
In 1990 Mrs Muirhead underwent treatment for a cancerous tumour on her spine at Yorkhill Hospital.
Some 33 years later Andrew was diagnosed with a medulloblastoma brain tumour at the Royal Hospital for Children (RHC), Glasgow.
