In this footage, Eva Evdokimova is interviewed firstly about her dance history in ‘The Sleeping Beauty’ with Rudolph Nureyev, saying they have appeared in the ballet in London and Australia. She then speaks about her off-stage interests, such as the Medieval period and in particular literature, such as the Book of Kells’.
The interviewer then tries, unsuccessfully, to draw the ballerina out on the question of her partner’s difficult disposition!
In the second part of this video, we see Nureyev on stage rehearse one of the prince’s solos and then Evdokimova the Rose Adagio, this time in costume.
A kind YouTube person comments that the date of the footage is 1977 and the rehearsal was at the Palais de Sport in Paris with London Festival Ballet.
