The Aptos Blockchain is a newcomer to the scene with the start of a new year. Many refer to Aptos as "the Solana Killer," and it has recently released its mainnet. Aptos is advertised as a "scalable, safe, dependable, and upgradable" network that has been in development for more than three years. After generating increases of more than 400% since the beginning of 2023, Aptos' APT stock set a new all-time high of $20.39.

Facebook's experiment with the Libra blockchain, which regulators forced shut down, resulted in Aptos. Mo Shaikh and Avery Ching, two members of Libra's leadership team, eventually discovered Aptos, a decentralised variation of the failed blockchain project.
In 2022, Aptos raised $350 million, which was split between a $150 million Series A fundraising round led by FTX Ventures and Jump Crypto and a $200 million seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz. Later, Binance added a strategic investment to support the development of the Aptos ecosystem.
