“Conforming to society can be an expectation for many of us ... how much have things really changed today and what type of mask are you wearing now?” - Caroline Chinakwe
Meet British-Nigerian mixed media artist Caroline Chinakwe in her studio, as she shares her artistic process behind a new artwork commission exploring what it means to be Black in Britain today.
Chinakwe’s pieces are informed by the stories, challenges and experiences of London’s African and Caribbean diaspora, who were interviewed during the creation of the pieces.
The artwork, two large-scale digital portraits, are on display in the London, Sugar & Slavery gallery at London Museum Docklands.
